IDEATION

For this project, we were tasked with creating a design that promotes sustainability in some way. My goal was to develop a zine that educates small- and medium-scale fashion designers on sustainable material sourcing. The first half highlights the problem, presenting data on the fashion industry's waste to raise awareness. The second half offers solutions, including examples, resources, sourcing options, material reuse, upcycling, and local recommendations in Austin, TX. While sustainable material sourcing often starts with smaller designers and companies, the ultimate goal is to influence major fashion houses, brands, and corporations—eventually leading to the eradication of fast fashion due to its unsustainable production practices. Where are the ethics in the fashion industry? We are designing for sustainability!
RESEARCH

Through class lectures and extensive research from peer-reviewed journals, government websites, case studies, and collected data, I compiled a comprehensive analysis of environmental degradation in the fashion industry. I was also able to research sustainable alternatives to common materials and textiles.
LAYOUT

After completing the literature portion of the project, I designed it in a visually digestible format, making it easy for designers and professionals to read and engage with. or this portion of the project, I used Adobe InDesign.
MOCKUPS

After completing the project, I made mockups and asset deliverables that brought the project to life.
